Margaret River

An evening of Strategies for Sustainability with Nicole Foss, international localization, energy and finance expert!

Not just your average speaker tour, Sustainability Showcase emphasizes audience participation with opportunities for networking and collaborative follow-up.

Join us at the Tingrith Meeting House on Saturday 4th May and be a part of the change!

The Margaret River Showcase will provide a hub for the South-West of WA to come together in collaboration for sustainability. If travelling folks from further afield need to stay overnight the Tingrith Meeting House has space for camping – so tents and vans are welcome to set up for a small fee.

Felicity says:

if Laura B wants to make the kelp pate, I’m sure we will enjoy sharing it on the evening in true Transition style!

Laura B says:

Sure! Will get onto the kelp pate & bring some along :-)

Felicity says:

While the map doesn’t make this clear, Hobson Road is off to the left of Osmington Road, at the foot of the hill past Cain Road.

Felicity says:

Sacha and Eva have promised that they will help provide a delicious meal with fresh and healthy vegetarian foods and an apricot delight for dessert, though Felicity has not allowed their famous kelp pate. . For the carnivores Steve will be cooking woodfired pizzas with and without meat. He’s getting very good at it. The meal will be worth the extra money and a good chance to socialise with Nicole before her presentation…

Laura B says:

Looking forward to it! Little miffed you haven’t ‘allowed’ Sacha’s wonderful seaweed sensation though, Felicity ;-)

Simon Dooley says:

Thank you Felicity. We are arranging a mini bus from Manjimup to Margaret River so if anyone wants to ride with us email me sjdooley@gmail.com Looking forward to gathering together with everyone there, Simon Dooley

Felicity says:

Felicity Haynes (one of the hosts) offers monthly philosophical thinkfests at Tingrith. modelled on Dewey’s idea of an evolving community of inquiry. WHile there is an opportunity for Nicole Foss to present her wealth of information and knowledge, there will be an opportunity for everyone who comes to TIngrith on May 4th to engage in an open discussion where everyone’s point of view is considered, perhaps in smaller round table groups depending on the number of people present. A reminder that those who are coming from other places that there is camping available so there will also be time for open discussion till late at night and over breakfast the next morning.l

Patrick says:

What do you mean “Sustainability Showcase features a high level of audience participation,” ? Do you mean group discussions or what??

admin says:

There will be opportunities for audience to engage with one another and with the speakers, via panel discussion and either roundtable discussions or breakout sessions.
